Art Therapist & Licensed Mental Health Counselor

I am an art therapist and mental health counselor based in Seattle, WA originally from Southern California. Before moving to the PNW in 2017, I spent eight years living in New York City. While completing my master’s degree at NYU, I worked in the geriatric, psychiatric unit at Mount Sinai hospital. That is where my passion for working with older adults began and I have been deepening my expertise ever since.

When I moved to Seattle, I worked as an art therapist at a community for older adults with dementia. I became the director of their Life Enrichment program and was able to create an emotional, social, and cognitive support system for the residents. Through this work, I became an advocate for improving geriatric mental healthcare and de-stigmatizing therapy.

While working in a memory care community, I witnessed the increasing need for familial support in the dementia community. Family members and loved ones of those with dementia often carry a heavy burden – financial responsibilities, caretaking, decision making, and their own grief. I decided to start my own company so that I can provide supportive therapeutic services to a wider scope of the dementia community and connect people with the resources they need to thrive.

I provide individual counseling, support groups, and group art therapy to individuals with dementia and those who love them. The evidence-based research behind how the brain responds positively to creativity is robust. By integrating that research into my work, I am able to provide emotional support as well as cognitive therapy to those whose brains work differently than they used to.

Together, we can take the stigma out of dementia and ensure those who need support have the access they need. I am so thrilled to be a part of The Collective and to be able to work with women who share my passion for creating a world where those with dementia and their loved ones can thrive!
